Tell us about your role…
As Sales Director, I lead our DFM sales team and work closely with financial advisers across the UK to help them deliver sustainable investment solutions for their clients. I’ve spent over a decade working with financial advisers, nationals and networks, and asset managers, and I’m as passionate as ever about building long-term relationships that genuinely make a difference.
I specialise in helping advisory firms build CIPs and fill gaps in their investment offering—making sure their clients’ portfolios reflect not just their financial goals, but also their values and sustainable preferences. We’re proud to offer a proposition for our advisers and their clients that really does make a difference, and it is my role to share that message and bring those benefits to life for the many brilliant firms we already partner with, and those we’ve yet to meet.
What attracted you to EQ, and what keeps you motivated to stay?
This one is easy. From the moment you walk in the door at EQ, you cannot help but become passionate about making a difference and wanting to do good, and the ability to do the job I love to do, and to do it at a company that makes a real difference to the world is a privilege. The team live and breath sustainability, and everyone at EQ is on the same collective mission. We also have a fantastic proposition for advisers, and as a sales team, to be able to talk about a proposition we truly believe in, that genuinely helps our advisers and their clients, absolutely keeps you motivated.
How do you like to spend your time when you’re not at work?
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family and friends, and with my wife Abi, have 2 children at home, Phoebe, 5, and Harry, 3. They certainly keep us very busy, but we love it! I love my sport (more watch that play these days), and I’m a big Arsenal fan. I am also a terrible golfer and an average runner, but I do love to keep fit, and enjoy a physical challenge, especially when it gives me the opportunity to raise money for the many charities that have supported my family and I. I love to travel (as do the kids!), and on a free weekend, like nothing more than visiting a nice country pub.
What’s one thing you love about our company culture?
The shared passion and drive for what we do! Everyone wants to succeed at EQ, we are definitely a disruptor when compared to the traditional DFM providers in the UK, and the team really thrives in that environment. EQ is a great place to work, and without sounding too cliché, we definitely have fun too!
